The fridge appears to be a high-end appliance, but it doesn't cost as much. The counter-depth feature of this fridge allows you to get the built-in look for less than a custom fridge. It also does an excellent job of hiding the water dispenser and ice maker behind a false panel. This makes it look more seamless than fridges which display the appliances. However, it has a few minor design flaws that hinder it from being as effective as it could be.
The biggest issue with this Frigidaire is that it's counter-depth, which means it loses about 7 cubic feet of usable space when compared to the Gallery refrigerator in normal depth measurements. This is a significant loss, especially for an appliance that costs close to $3500.
The fridge is still able to maintain a stable temperature in its cooling and freezer compartments. It also did well in our spill test by keeping water and other fluids kept in check even on the top shelf.
If you're looking for an French door refrigerator with large flex drawers that are customizable, the Frigidaire is a great choice. It comes with a smudge-proof stainless steel finish and its left door opens smaller than the right making it easier to access the controls. The flex drawer can be set to various temperatures, which means it can be used as an insulated freezer, a freezer cooler, or even a place to store chilled drinks or wine.
The fridge is user-friendly however, it's not as intuitive as other refrigerators we have tried. It has a digital panel with simple design and numerous useful features. For instance you can change the door bins from left to right, and there is the option to activate the freezer in turbo mode to provide rapid influx of cold. This refrigerator is also ENERGY-STAR-certified, which means you can save on your utility bills. However, it lacks some convenience features, such as a temperature-controlled meat/deli bin and a light in the freezer. Its storage capabilities are only average.
